Niranjan I Naragund is an entrepreneur at heart who is currently the Co-Founder of Salesroom, a SaaS platform for exporters in the field of textiles, handicrafts, furniture, and home decor. He is responsible for product and sales at Salesroom. Niranjan is an alumnus of SJCE Mysore and Stoa, where he is currently a Fellow at C6. Niranjan has tried building two startups in the past, Aplos, an industrial content creation company for medical and heavy engineering manufacturers, and GetZedPay, a loyalty-tracking UPI app that tracks loyalty towards retail stores such as restaurants, spas, saloons, and theaters. However, he failed at both attempts. At Salesroom, Niranjan designed the wireframes of the web application in Figma, designed all sales materials such as customer presentations, short videos, and cold emails, and signed up nearly 55 MSMEs for the trial version. He also tried selling to enterprises and spoke to nearly 50 of them, but most did not see it as a must-have. Those enterprises who did see value had already built mini versions of their software. Niranjan's biggest learnings from his experiences include the fact that it is hard to sell SaaS which predominantly saves time rather than increases sales/revenue, there is inbound and outbound sales, but if you are selling in India, there is a third -‘Feet on street', and always respect the Pareto Principle. Despite his failed attempts, Niranjan still loves being an entrepreneur. Niranjan's past experiences include working as a Network Consulting Engineer at Cisco, where he dealt with Cisco security products such as ASA, FTD, ISE, and Anyconnect. He conducted 70+ threat analysis reports of companies such as Samsung, Rakuten, Nokia, 3M, and managed TCS's account as HTE (High Touch Engineer) for six months. He also built a virtual Lab application using Python for deploying and testing ASA and FTD firewalls. Niranjan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA from Stoa. He has a tech stack that includes web, software engineering, testing, and Python. Niranjan has 1.76 years of relevant experience.
