Nitin Khandelwal is a seasoned Machine Learning professional with over 8 years of experience in the field. Currently, he serves as the Head of Machine Learning at Kruzr, a seed-funded start-up focused on building intelligent technology solutions for safe driving. In this role, Nitin leads a team of Machine Learning experts to develop a smart driving assistant app with telematics-based driver safety systems and hands-free driver interaction features. Prior to Kruzr, Nitin was the VP of Data Science at airim, a content personalization SaaS product company that was later acquired by Whatfix. During his tenure, he led the machine learning initiatives for developing a content personalization SaaS product to autonomously show suitable content to website users based on their on-site behavior, demographics, and acquisition channel. Nitin also built Natural Language Processing based search engine algorithms for question/answer type documents using Spacy and designed ETL pipeline to ingest and index documents. He designed scalable ML infrastructure for handling around a million requests a day and built an ensemble algorithm using LDA and Informativeness-based Keyword Extraction for short documents to extract keyphrases from question-answer based knowledge bases. Before airim, Nitin worked with HSBC as an Analyst in the Wholesale Market Risk Analytics team. He was an integral member of the Advanced Modelling team, exploring the feasibility of Machine Learning algorithms for model development in banks. Nitin worked on various projects, including Artificial Neural Network for model development at HSBC, Model Monitoring, and Streamlining Monitoring Process. Nitin holds an M.Sc. (Hons) & B.E. (Hons) degree in Mathematics & Chemical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He also completed Class X and XII from DAV Public School, Kota, Rajasthan.
