Nivedita Arora is a multi-disciplinary researcher with a focus on re-imagining the future of mobile and ubiquitous computing. Currently a Graduate Researcher at Ubicomp Lab in Georgia Institute of Technology, she is exploring the challenges and solutions for the exciting new age of Internet of Materials (IoM). Her research involves embracing an alternative view of computing where the physical surfaces would be covered with a “computational material” which can self-sustain itself to sense, compute, actuate and communicate as well as have the capability of being manufactured at large scale. Nivedita is highly experienced in the field of research, having worked as a Researcher at Brain Lab in Georgia Institute of Technology, where she performed an exploratory study to assess the potential of using customised ear electrodes for ear-EEG based mobile wearable Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) for Google Glass. She also designed proximity-based adaptive switch for Intel’s Assistive Technology Platform as a Graduate Research Assistant. Nivedita holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in CS - Ubiquitous Computing from Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master's Degree in Human Computer Interaction from the same institution, and a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Information Technology from NSIT. She also completed her High School education in Science from Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura. Nivedita is a highly skilled Research Scientist with 6.27 years of relevant experience in the field of mobile computing. She is an expert in her field and has collaborated with researchers in material science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics, and design to explore the challenges and solutions for the future of mobile and ubiquitous computing.
