Noah Ossanna is a Hardware Engineer Co-op at Amazon Robotics with a background in Mechanical Engineering. He has gained extensive experience in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) through his work as the Principle Lead of the Northeastern Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (NUAV) team at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics of Northeastern University. In this role, he was responsible for the mechanical design of unmanned systems, algorithm development for autonomous flight, and interdisciplinary education of students. Noah's technical skills include designing, optimizing, and developing compact and rapidly deployable sUASs for swarm autonomy, utilizing Arduino and Python for control of actuated payloads, and configuring Pixhawk autonomy using ArduPilot and QGroundControl/Mission Planner. He has also experimented with actuation schemes to deploy swarms of UAVs and designed and constructed a heavy-lift octocopter for swarm sUAS deployment and payload testing. In addition to his expertise in UAVs, Noah has experience as a Drone Pilot and CAD Designer at Corvus Robotics. He is well-versed in SolidWorks, Onshape, and Fusion 360, and has experience in manufacturing using 3D printing, CNC machining, and water jet cutting. Noah holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, where he is currently pursuing his degree and is expected to graduate in 2022. Prior to that, he attended Morristown High School. With 1.19 years of relevant experience, Noah is a skilled Hardware Engineer with a passion for UAVs and a strong background in mechanical design and project management.
