Odhita Kamayana is a seasoned software engineer with over 9 years of relevant experience in the industry. Currently, she is working as a Software Engineer at Slack, where she is responsible for developing and maintaining software applications. Prior to joining Slack, Odhita worked at Connected as a Software Engineer, where she developed a companion application for smart speakers and a mobile banking application, refactored legacy application code, and managed CI/CD of both applications and the library project. She also extensively used Kotlin, RxJava 2, JetPack libraries, and Kotlin coroutines in her projects. Before Connected, Odhita worked at Nuance Communications as a Java Application Developer. Here, she developed an application that includes a Java web backend/middleware, and embedded Android, and JavaScript (jQuery) web client that runs on the multi-function printers (MFP). The application communicates with numerous scanning and/or printing solution servers as well as the MFPs via SOAP and REST-like APIs. She also developed a mini-infrastructure for Android UI automation using Espresso on a non-standard Android environment and provided on-demand developer support to customers. Odhita holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo. She also attended Global Jaya International School. Her tech stack includes Software Engineering, Android, Kotlin, CI/CD, Mobile, Web, Java, Javascript, UI, Backend, and Infra. Odhita has experience in technical team leadership, managing regular company developer meetups, screening and conducting technical interviews for new candidate hires, and assisting technical interview training for developers.
