Oleksii Shyshkov is a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer with a passion for building high-performing distributed systems. With almost 20 years of relevant experience, he has a deep understanding of Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Database internals, and Distributed systems. Currently working at Workday, Oleksii is responsible for the development of a cloud compute engine for planning applications, specifically an Elastic hypercube. This involves working with Microservices, Distributed applications, Spring Boot, and Java. Prior to Workday, Oleksii worked at Oracle as a Principal Software Developer, where he was involved in developing the hot backup feature for Oracle Essbase using Java, J2E, and C. He also worked on the Essbase OLAP database, using C/C++, gunit, gtest, database internals, and Oracle RDBMS. Oleksii also worked as a Principal Software Engineer at Google through EPAM, where he was involved in various projects such as developing web tools to help review applications for the Play store, creating a diagnostics server for Google Analytics using C++, bigtable, RPC server, gmock, gunit, and protobufs, and building data pipelines for sales and marketing using map/reduce framework, bigtable, megastore, Java, C++, Python, and Dremel. He also worked on a web application based on the Python framework, using Python, mocks, and the closure framework. Oleksii holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics, where he studied from 2002 to 2003.
