Omkar Acharya is a highly skilled Software Development Engineer II at Amazon with over 5 years of relevant experience in the field. Currently, he works with the Capacity Optimization Planning and Analysis (COPA) team within Amazon Fulfillment Technology (AFT) organization. In this role, he is responsible for solving complex problems related to computer vision, deep learning, and sensor fusion, and performs real-time processing of tons of data in real-time to provide customers with a checkout-frustration free experience. Before his current role, Omkar worked as a Software Development Engineer I at Amazon Go, where he continued to solve interesting problems in the space of computer vision, deep learning, and sensor fusion. He was responsible for extending the Smart Abstractor's work from his summer internship and automated the start-to-end processing pipeline using Python and PHP. Additionally, he built the deployment pipeline for the project. Omkar holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Pune Institute of Computer Technology. He also has a High School degree in Science from Yashvantrao Chavan Institute of Science, Satara, and an SSC degree from Annasaheb Kalyani Vidyalaya, Satara.
