Omkar Danke is a Senior Vendor Analyst for Compliance and Security at Box, with over 12 years of experience in IT risk and assurance, compliance and security, software asset management, SAP ABAP, and web development. He has a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and a Master's degree in Management of Information Systems from Utah State University. Omkar is an analyst at heart and enjoys digging into information to recommend suitable decisions. He manages risk and provides assurance around current or prospective third parties by evaluating their IT security controls. He identifies and remediates security and compliance gaps and suggests best practices for third parties to improve security. He can also manage risks around software license management and optimize license costs. Before joining Box, Omkar worked as a License Management Senior Consultant for Anglepoint Inc. and as a Software Engineering Senior Analyst for Accenture. During his stint as a developer, he sought to understand the essence of the business requirement and provide an optimum solution. Exposure to an enterprise resource planning environment provided him with a view of the operational problems faced by an enterprise. At Box, Omkar conducts technical supplier reviews for existing and new suppliers, reviews external penetration tests and SOC/compliance reports of suppliers, and partners with Sourcing, Legal, IT to streamline supplier reviews. He also develops metrics around incoming suppliers and their risk, enhances the efficiency of supplier reviews through automation and using a risk-based approach, and collaborates with other Compliance team members to ensure suppliers who affect Box certifications are meeting requirements.
