Omkar Desai is a passionate QA Automation Engineer with over 9 years of relevant experience in automation testing of web-based, mobile, and API applications. He has a strong understanding of OOPS concepts and methodologies and is well-versed in Agile/Scrum model of software development life cycle. Omkar specializes in verification and validation and has experience in Regression, Integration, GUI, and Functional testing. Omkar's technical skills include Selenium Webdriver, Appium, RESTful Web services, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, Rest Assured, and Java programming. He is proficient in using JIRA for bug tracking and GIT for version control. He has also worked with Jenkins CI, Maven, Docker, Cassandra, Kafka, and Elastic search. Currently, Omkar works at Groww as an SDET, where he is responsible for building the QA ecosystem. Prior to this, he worked as a Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer at Qualys and as a Member of Technical Staff at Tibco Software Inc. Omkar holds a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree from Savitribai Phule Pune University and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from Sir Parashurambhau College, India. He also completed Std XII from Dnyanganga Junior College and his high school education from Seth Dagaduram Katariya High School. Apart from his technical skills, Omkar is interested in Agile Methodologies, End-to-End Automation, and Web Services. He is also a playwright and enjoys writing clean, testable, and modular code.
