Oscar Ruiz Batalla is an empathic and open-minded Engineering Manager at Wallapop with over 24 years of relevant experience in the field. With a strong technical background, Oscar has a global vision of the product development lifecycle, from conception to roll-out. He started his career as a software developer and later built his own start-up as CTO, which provided him with a strong client and user-oriented mindset, agile and always driven by business goals. As an Engineering Manager at Wallapop, Oscar leads two of the four product teams, participating in the product direction, defining goals, and leading the team during execution and delivery. He coordinates with the rest of the Engineering Managers to align on company priorities, promotes agile development practices, and manages blocking scenarios, risks, and communication with stakeholders. Oscar also represents the team in product board meetings and participates in recruitments, leading career development, promotions, and performance management. Before joining Wallapop, Oscar worked as an Engineering Manager at Marfeel, where he led two of the four product teams. As an Engineering Manager, he participated in the product direction, defined goals, and led the team during execution and delivery. He also coordinated with the rest of the Engineering Managers to align on company priorities, promoted agile development practices, and managed blocking scenarios, risks, and communication with stakeholders. Oscar was also the CTO and Co-Founder of Atta Community, a gamification platform that reinvented the way soft skills are trained. As a co-founder, he was involved in all aspects of business development, defining the product, market fit, marketing, and sales. As CTO, he defined the technical solution, built and led the development team consisting of four engineers. Oscar holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. He is a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer with a relevant experience of 24.70 years.
