Owen Turner-Major is a highly experienced Senior Engineer at Lingumi, a company dedicated to providing an innovative and engaging language learning experience for children. Prior to joining Lingumi, Owen co-founded and served as CTO of Fat Llama, a peer-to-peer rental marketplace that allowed users to rent out their unused items to others nearby. During his time at Fat Llama, Owen raised $13.2m from investors including Blossom Capital, Atomico, Y Combinator, and Greylock Partners. He also helped develop a platform that provided a cheaper and more efficient alternative to buying outright or renting from traditional rental shops. Before Fat Llama, Owen worked as a Software Engineer at Funding Xchange, a marketplace that allowed business owners to make one funding request and receive the best available quotes from the whole of the lending market. While at Funding Xchange, Owen worked across the stack on new features for partnerships using Java, Postgres, Javascript, jQuery, and CSS. Owen received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and German from the University of Oxford in 2015. His education and experience have given him a strong foundation in software engineering, Java, Javascript, Postgres, and CSS.
