Pablo Opazo is a highly skilled and experienced Staff SRE at Split with over 11 years of experience in Linux system administration and 9 years of experience in SRE and DevOps in Production environment(s) for high scalable Startups. He also has 6+ years of experience with cloud vendors such as AWS, GCP, and Azure. Pablo is a solutions-oriented engineer who has a proven track record of devising and implementing SDLC solutions to ensure smooth delivery of software services. He has demonstrated success delivering consulting services on Linux environments while focusing on continuous integration, continuous deployment, and infrastructure design and improvement. He is also industrious and diligent in carrying out complex tasks with the ability to achieve successful results. In his current role as Staff SRE at Split, Pablo is responsible for all things related to Observability (metrics, performance analysis, tracing). He has implemented Service Mesh networking with Linkerd, overseen MongoDB databases clusters performance, conducted root cause analysis investigations, developed exporters/metrics collectors using Go and Rust, maintained in-house software deployment tools using Python, managed multiple Kubernetes/EKS clusters, and implemented an MVP Tracing Architecture using Grafana tempo. Prior to Split, Pablo worked at Science (Sequoia Capital) as a Lead DevOps Engineer where he built out the entire infrastructure from scratch and successfully integrated multiple systems on top Kubernetes (OpenShift) like Kafka, CockroachDB, Elasticsearch using the operator's pattern. He managed multiple OpenShift clusters using RHACM, architected their tracing infrastructure using Jaeger + OpenTelemetry, implemented Service Mesh networking with Istio, and developed their software delivery pipeline using Tekton (Build/Testing/Deploy). Pablo holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science from INACAP and completed his undergraduate studies in Computer Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2020. He is proficient in various technologies such as SRE, CI/CD, infra, AWS, DevOps, Azure, GCP, Integration, Kubernetes, Python, MongoDB, test, Elastic Search, and Kafka.
