Pankaj Khattar is a seasoned technical professional with over 15 years of experience in designing and developing Big Data, Machine Learning, and AI-based projects. Currently, he is working as a Principal Software Engineer at Microsoft, where he leads the development of Azure CosmosDB. Pankaj has extensive experience in various Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Map Reduce, Pig, Hbase, Cassandra, Hive, Sqoop, Flume, and GraphDB. He has also worked on cloud-based computing and storage platforms like Azure, Amazon EMR, and EC2, and Google Cloud Platform. In addition, he has authored a book on “Data Lake Analytics on Azure,” which provides a comprehensive view of how data analytics solutions have evolved from monolithic data stores to modern data warehouses. Apart from Big Data, Pankaj has created multiple Blockchain projects on the Ethereum network using the Solidity framework. He has also been involved in streaming and analyzing social networking data from Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Pankaj's domain experience includes analytical platforms, API management products, NMS/EMS based solutions, banking, e-commerce, and CRM domains. He has also led the effort for partnership and certification of product's Big Data capabilities from Cloudera and Hortonworks. Pankaj's primary languages have been Java/J2ee, Scala, Python, and their related frameworks. He has a PGDM degree in Systems (I.T.) & Operations from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, and a B.E. degree in Electronics & Communication from Apeejay College of Engineering.
