Pankaj Srivastava is an experienced software engineer with over 25 years of relevant experience in the field. Currently working at Arista Networks as a Software Engineer, Pankaj has a strong skill set in designing and developing networking and platform/system software in SVR4/Linux environments. He has extensive experience in C programming for embedded systems and a deep understanding of data structures and algorithms. Pankaj's expertise also includes the development of high availability architectures and scalable systems, and he has a strong understanding of kernel internals (SVR4/Linux) and operating system porting. He has worked on switching and routing technology, and has experience in designing and developing dis-aggregation of network stack and data-plane abstractions. He has evaluated fixed function vs. fully programmable ASICs, and has experience in P4 language programming and default pipeline modifications. Pankaj has also worked on network virtualization (VxLAN), IP fabric (BGP-EVPN), Openflow 1.3, SDN controllers, and TRILL based data-center Ethernet fabric. He has developed various device drivers (ASIO, X.25, SCSI, etc.) and kernel modules, and has experience in storage subsystems and protocols (file systems, SCSI, fiber channel, iFCP, iSCSI, FCoE). In his previous roles at Extreme Networks and Broadcom Inc. (Data Center BU acquired by Extreme Networks Pvt. Ltd.), Pankaj has led and driven the development of data-path abstraction architecture, prototyped dataplane abstraction layer, and addressed performance and scaling issues due to architectural and design shortcomings in existing control plane. He has also led the homegrown data-plane abstraction for all supported platforms, including prototyping effort. Pankaj holds an Engineer's Degree in Computer Science from Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, where he graduated in 1997. His strong technical skills and extensive experience make him a valuable asset to any organization in the software engineering field.
