Paras Lehana is a Lead Engineer at IndiaMART InterMESH Limited, where he is responsible for developing and handling Auto-Suggest in the Product Search Department. With a focus on Apache Solr, Paras is committed to boosting Query Relevancy and Contextuality while ensuring that Auto-Suggest's 100ms line is not broken. In addition to his proficiency in Computer Science Engineering, Paras is also a national Badminton and Chess player. He enjoys PC gaming, photography, exploring new things, hitting the gym, and traveling. Paras has worked at IndiaMART in various roles, including Senior Engineer and Development Engineer. In his previous roles, he has worked on MCAT Search, ML Query Understanding, User Defined Groups, and Auto-Suggest. He has also optimized product core and backend changes like Edge NGrams Tokenization to bring down response time by 90% (~25 ms). Paras takes pride in the fact that the client-side Auto-Suggest display times fastest among Google, Amazon, and Flipkart. Paras has a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida.
