Parth Chopra is a Software Engineer II at Twitter with a passion for cryptography, distributed systems, and startups. He is an EECS graduate from the University of California, Berkeley, and has relevant experience of 1.77 years in the field. Parth has also implemented a major redesign in ad serving backend to expand the scope of compatible demand for ads on Replies. He has designed an ETL data pipeline using Airflow and BigQuery to enrich user application data for creator monetization. He has authored several design docs for code changes at scale and wrote clean testing docs with monitoring dashboards. Previously, Parth has worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Twitter. He has led the initiative to refactor app-proxy, a distributed Thrift service supplying app data for ads served on mobile/web clients. He has integrated a new Manhattan R/W database to support rendering of app icons and screenshots for app-proxy clients. He has built a Strato client interface in Scala with a caching layer backed by Kafka, improving p999 latency by a factor of 15. He has devised a unit testing framework using Mockito and ScalaTest, allowing the deprecation of legacy app-proxy endpoint. He has also launched an app icon experiment for Android clients, leading to a 5.9% increase in installs per click (IPC) for mobile app promotion (MAP) ads. Apart from his work at Twitter, Parth has co-founded Bids Events at Berkeley SkyDeck. He has designed and wire-framed a complete user interface for compatibility with Xcode 11 and Android Studio.
