Patrick Shiels is a second-year Computer & Information Security student at Sheffield Hallam University, with a keen interest in cyber security. He is actively seeking a year-long placement opportunity from 2019 to 2020, and plans to complete his degree after finishing his placement. Currently, Patrick works as a Festive Sales Colleague at Tesco, where he provides excellent customer service and ensures that the refrigerated aisles meet the company's requirements in terms of stock rotation and replenishment. He is also responsible for working at EPOS (Electric Point of Sale), helping customers find items they require, and keeping the shelves presentable and meeting legal requirements. In the past, Patrick has gained work experience as an IT Support Assistant at trentbarton, where he installed operating systems and set up computers for use within the business. He also accompanied IT consultants to multiple locations to help them troubleshoot and eliminate errors, and worked within the team to back up company records. Additionally, he worked as a Casual Sales Person and Web Developer for Teatime Treats, maintaining and developing relationships with fellow workers, identifying and meeting customer needs, planning the design and features of the website, and correcting stock levels to match current stock levels. Patrick is currently pursuing a degree in Computer & Information Security from Sheffield Hallam University, with a field of study in First year: 1st. He plans to complete his degree in 2021. He has a tech stack that includes web development. With a total of 9.86 years of relevant experience, Patrick is a dedicated and hardworking individual with a passion for cyber security. He is eager to learn and grow in his field, and is actively seeking opportunities to gain more experience and knowledge.
