Paul Alek is an accomplished Software Engineer with over 3 years of experience in the industry. He currently works at New York Life as a Software Engineer, where he has been instrumental in developing and implementing various software solutions. Aside from his professional work, Paul is also the Founder of DocIt, a platform that enables users to document and organize important information while it's still fresh in their minds. His passion for innovation and entrepreneurship has also led him to become a Venture Fellow at the Venture Cooperative, a free educational program and inclusive community that makes Laconia's investments, processes, and learnings accessible for the next generation of early stage investors. In this role, Paul participates in Laconia's investment processes, collaborates on due diligence, and shares his expertise with early stage founders. Paul holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Economics from The City College of New York, where he graduated in 2020. During his time at New York Life, he worked as a Mobile/Front-End Developer and Digital Technology Track Intern, where he successfully led a proof of concept DevOps mobile development cycle. He coded in React Native, JavaScript, and Java, and used Node.JS to run React Native applications. He also worked with Visual Studios App Center to generate binaries for mobile application and used Appium to run custom test scripts. Paul's technical expertise includes software engineering, and he has experience working with various technologies.
