Paulo Cardoso is a tech innovator with a global and remote-first mindset. He is a former senior software engineer and tech lead at Advania, where he specialized in developing and delivering software for the demanding banking and finance industry. With over 20 years of experience in the tech/finance industry space, Paulo has extensive proven experience through every stage of software development, including requirements analysis, estimating tasks, design analysis, full-stack development (client, server, database), QA/testing, releases, and ongoing customer support. In 2019, Paulo resigned from his job to research extensively remote work processes, communication forms, and tools available, comparing his own extensive experience with methodologies applied by leading global remote-first and all-remote companies. He strongly believes in the democratization of work and that having in place the correct remote work strategy and best practices will be an advantage and critical to the success of every organization as well as the happiness and wellbeing of their collaborators. In 2020, Paulo initiated a travel tech project that consists of building an online global marketplace to help remote workers and digital nomads around the world. He is currently the co-founder of deskandbed.com, which is committed to the democratization of work. Paulo is agile and adaptable and is an unconditional fan of teamwork. Paulo has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Reykjavik University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from ISTEC. He has also completed a program on High-Level Negotiation Skills from IESE Business School and a Master's degree in International Relations from the University of Lisbon.
