Pavithran Ravichandiran is an international CS Grad student pursuing his Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with an expected graduation date of December 2022. He has a strong background in software engineering, having worked for over three years as a Backend Engineer at Samsung Electronics India before joining grad school. At Samsung, Pavithran developed and deployed a RESTful microservice for handling billion-dollar worth annual payment transactions for the US Samsung eCommerce site using NodeJS, HapiJS, Postgres, Elasticsearch, Redis, RabbitMQ, Go pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes. He also collaborated with product managers and multiple payment providers to formulate custom payment solutions for Samsung's business model and solve integration issues. Pavithran has written 5+ microservices from scratch, with one among them being responsible for managing more than a billion-dollar worth of payment transactions in revenue each year. In the summer of 2023, Pavithran interned at Meta (Facebook) Inc as a Software Engineer. He was part of the Search Explore Facebook team and contributed to a query understanding project to improve Search Relevance for Facebook's Structural Personalized user queries. His tech stack included C++ and Facebook Search retrieval/ranking infrastructure. Pavithran's education history includes a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Anna University in 2018 and his current pursuit of a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
