Pawan Phalak is a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Google with over 2 years of relevant experience. He has a strong background in infra, AI, GCP, Big Data, Python, CI/CD, product management, Kubernetes, ML, AWS, Backend, Terraform, and Docker. In his current role, Pawan provides exceptional technical guidance to customers adopting Google Cloud Platform services. He is responsible for best practices on secure foundational cloud implementations, automated provisioning of infrastructure and applications, cloud-ready application architectures, and more. Pawan also advises and guides clients to ensure they receive the best of what Google Cloud Platform (GCP) can offer and have the best experience in migrating, building, modernizing, and maintaining applications in Google Cloud Platform. Prior to joining Google, Pawan worked as a Platform Engineer at Quantiphi, where he set up infrastructure and supported AI platforms for data scientists on GCP. He also implemented GPU monitoring pipelines using Python and systemd service, and resource utilization notifications using Python and GCP services (Cloud functions, Pub/Sub). Pawan deployed a backend API over GKE and set up a CI/CD pipeline using Cloud Build and Gitlab. He supported customers in resolving/troubleshooting production environment bugs and implemented a Fast API application to provide ML inference service using Vertex AI. Pawan has also worked as a Framework Engineer at Quantiphi, where he improved latency by 80% for ML pipeline using GKE and GCP services. He built modularized terraform code used as Iaac for GCP and AWS architecture and was trained on Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, GCP, and AWS. Pawan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Technology from Army Institute of Technology (AIT), Pune, and completed his HSC from Army Public School (APS).
