Piyush Diwan is a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Ripple, with over 12 years of software development experience in the Telecom and Storage industries. He has spent the last 4 years leading projects on Cloud-Foundry and Kubernetes Monitoring and Observability. Piyush has also spent 7+ years building tools and micro-services with the Python stack and CI/CD automation pipelines. He is an open-source contributor, mentor, data enthusiast, and travel and food lover. Currently, Piyush is building platform services on AWS and GCP at Ripple, using a tech stack that includes Terraform, Python, Golang, Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana. Prior to joining Ripple, Piyush was a Principal Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer at T-Mobile. During his time there, he worked with a tech stack that included Python, Golang, Concourse CI, Splunk, Cloud-Foundry, Kubernetes, Datadog, Elasticsearch, Grafana, and InfluxDB. Piyush was the lead developer of a one-stop-shop micro-service with 30+ API endpoints exposing Cloud-Foundry, Kubernetes, VMWare, and network platforms metadata that serves 10K+ daily hits and empowers multiple dashboards and tools. He was also the project lead for PCF metrics migration from Datadog to Splunk, which involved developing tools to migrate ~2TB metrics data, 50+ dashboards, and alerts. This resulted in $300K+/year OpEx savings. Piyush was the lead developer of a comprehensive Smoke-Tests suite to monitor PCF and Kubernetes platform-services and workflows, which he open-sourced. He also developed tools for garbage-collection of stale PCF objects, reclaiming Terabytes of disk and memory resources, earning him the "Employee of the Month" award for this work. Additionally, Piyush provided technical support to T-Mobile application developers on application deployment related problems on PCF. Piyush holds an M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University, an M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT, and a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from NIT Raipur.
