Piyush Kuhikar is a Social Impact Entrepreneur and Development Professional with over 7 years of relevant experience. He is currently working as a Software Engineer at Ency Consulting and has previously worked with Confio Engineering Solutions Private Limited as a Software Engineer. Before entering the social sector, Piyush worked in a leading IT company. However, he felt his calling towards working for rural people living in poverty. He took SBI Youth for India fellowship and started his work in the tribal areas of Ganjam district of Odisha. During his fellowship, he helped women self-help groups start an income generation activity, which gave them handsome returns. After the completion of his fellowship project, Piyush worked with BAIF in Maharashtra, where he worked with farmers for the creation of watershed structures to increase the groundwater level. He also worked in resource mobilization for assisting farmers to increase their income in farming and allied activities. Later, Piyush worked with Forrest, which worked on biodiversity projects, especially on Miyawaki forest creation. It was a short stint with field implementations and data collection. As Piyush worked with different NGOs, he realized that each one faced fund crunch, which hampered their ability to scale up or even affected their daily operations. So, he along with his partner Akshay started BitHelp Foundation, India's only Social Cause Monthly-Giving Platform, which connects donors with NGOs through monthly-giving and lets them know the progress and the impact of their donations. Piyush is a Python Developer with expertise in AWS, Redis, Django, and Postgres. He has experience of working with different software engineering technologies and has automated manual entries of orders, status updates, paper work related to challan creation, material procurement slip creation, and costing for order and order parts.
