Poornima Prakash is a highly skilled Tech Lead with over 17 years of relevant experience in large scale distributed systems. Currently, she is serving as a Senior Software Engineer and Tech Lead at Google Cloud Security, where she is responsible for managing and leading the development of various tech projects. Her areas of expertise include Java, REST, algorithms, and distributed systems. Prior to joining Google, Poornima worked as a Software Development Engineer III at Flipkart, where she played the role of a hands-on tech lead. She has worked on multiple projects, including Flipkart co-branded cards, Flipkart Grocery, and Flipkart Plus. Poornima has contributed significantly to a number of Big Billion Day sales and has experience in scaling different user path services for peak workloads, throughput, and latency requirements. Before joining Flipkart, Poornima served as a Senior Member Technical Staff at Oracle, where she worked on the design and development of the model layer of Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF). Her areas of expertise included query execution architecture, an efficient search implementation to search through a large number of records, personalizing search results for end-users, and complex connection pooling and serialization mechanisms to manage user and database connections.
