Praanjal Nasery is a highly motivated Wind Energy R&D Engineer/Scientist II at Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) with a passion for contributing to the world's transition to a sustainable energy era. With a Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Rutgers University, Praanjal has successfully conducted research in the field of data science for wind energy using R and Python programming as part of his master's thesis. He also holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and has two years of experience at a leading industrial gases company, where he handled key roles in project management and procurement and was involved in continuous improvement projects in the Mechanical Systems Engineering function. Praanjal is also Six Sigma Green Belt certified from the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE). Praanjal's skillset includes proficiency in programming languages such as R programming, Python (numpy, pandas, scikit-learn), SQL, SAP ERP, Primavera P6, Tableau, SmartPlant Materials, SmartPlant P&ID, Anylogic, and Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. His core competencies include data analytics, data visualization, forecasting, continuous improvement, project management, and purchasing and procurement. Praanjal is always curious and interested in data-driven approaches for improving systems. His goal is to leverage his skillset, which encompasses data analytics, project management, and supply chain, to tackle challenges related to sustainable energy and energy efficiency. Currently working as a Purchase and Supply Chain Intern at Tata, Praanjal has established a supplier database for engine mounts and examined and documented industrial practices of lean manufacturing across all major assembly lines. In the past, Praanjal has worked as an Associate Engineer at Air Products, handling key roles in the Mechanical Systems Engineering (MSE) and Project Execution functions. He has effectively documented and mitigated issues pertaining to the assignment of pipe classes and valve specifications, leading to process improvement, reduced errors, improved quality, and increased productivity of engineers by 15%. Praanjal has also spearheaded material control and requisitioning activities using SAP and SmartPlant Materials, enabling the creation of Purchase Orders for equipment, bulk items, and services. He has been the primary point of contact for resolving software and material control issues, streamlining the requisition-to-pay cycle across global cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Procurement, and Document Control.
