Prabakaran Santhanam is an experienced software engineer with over 11 years of experience in web development, automation, and DevOps. Currently, he works as a Staff Engineer at Altimetrik, where he is building platform tools for one of the largest global financial service providers using React, Java, and Python. The tools he is building will help automate the process and test data management in general among the wide range of services provided. By integrating different services and products in the backend, he aims to reduce or remove the pain point of integrated access to the service/data among the different business units including the products from the companies acquired by the client. Prabakaran has worked with various companies in the past, including egrove systems and vvdn, where he has demonstrated his expertise in Python, JavaScript, ReactJS, Django, and Java. At egrove systems, he rewrote an SEO optimization tool that was capable of scraping and indexing millions of pages from low performant Python 2 using (multithreading/multiprocessing), and PostgreSQL to Python 3 with Async IO and MongoDB. He improved the performance of the tool by 10X and developed UI in AngularJS/JQuery. He also containerized the SEO tool and other applications to move from legacy development/deployment cycle (EC2) to container-based dev/deployment to improve the speed of development, ease of deployment, scalability, and security. At vvdn, Prabakaran migrated the project management application from PHP/JQuery to Django/AngularJS and added new features to scale to the growing requirements. He was also involved in the requirement analysis, design, and building of a test automation framework for Nokia (Networks) and built a team of 10 and was responsible for the same from training to product delivery. He drove the hardware and network virtualization initiative, using Linux namespaces & LXC to bring down the cost, ease of creating the networks and destroying them, and have full control for executing automation. Prabakaran holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Shri Andal Alagar College of Engineering, Chenglepet, Anna University. He also has a technical skill set that includes Python, Web, test, Software Engineer, JavaScript, DevOps, Backend, MongoDB, UI, Java, Django, SDET, and PHP.
