Prachi Gupta is the Head of Engineering at Discord, responsible for leading the strategy and execution of a highly scalable and distributed technology stack that powers millions of conversations. With close to two decades of experience in consumer technology companies, Prachi enjoys building engineering teams and defining culture and processes that enable teams to grow and succeed in a repeatable and predictable manner. An entrepreneurial engineer at heart, Prachi enjoys prototyping ideas and conceptualizing, designing, and delivering impactful software. She holds a Master's in Computer Science and has significant experience working with startups to explore innovative solutions to real-world problems, from socially driven consumer websites to enterprise business intelligence and analytics software. As an active supporter of diversity in STEM, Prachi co-founded LinkedIn's Women in Technology initiative and is an alumnus board member of Women's Audio Mission. In the past, she led the R&D teams for Feed, Sharing, and Content Platform teams at LinkedIn, focused on reimagining the conversation and knowledge sharing experience on LinkedIn. She also led engineering for Messenger, Groups, Identity Engagement, and Insights teams at LinkedIn, including products and frameworks like LinkedIn messaging, real-time platform, InMails, Groups, Skill Endorsements, Who Viewed My Profile/Mirror, Profile Recommendations, Year In Review, Site Promotions, Microsites, etc. Prachi co-founded various programs at LinkedIn that drove the spirit of innovation forward, such as the development model used across all of engineering, features and frameworks that helped increase membership growth by >15%, LinkedIn labs site, LinkedIn's internal and public hackathons, internal and public events promoting and encouraging Women in Technology, and LinkedIn [in]cubator, a program to drive grassroots innovation at LinkedIn. She was recognized by Business Insider amongst the most powerful female engineers in Tech in 2018. Prachi's current focus at Discord is on strategically scaling the product and infrastructure behind Discord. She has relevant experience of 18.86 years in the tech industry and has worked as a Senior Engineering Manager in the past. Her tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer and Infra. Prachi holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Computer Applications from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya.
