Praful Ilamkar is a highly experienced Senior Director of Engineering, Security Analytics at Qualys, with over 11 years of relevant experience. He is responsible for leading a team of architects and software engineers in prototyping, designing, developing, and supporting highly scalable SaaS-based cloud security services. His expertise lies in managing multi-tenant Cloud infrastructure for Qualys® Cloud Platform, developing high-performance APIs, libraries, and microservices that scale to meet/exceed the demands of processing more than a 100 million transactions and terabytes of data per day using Java, Spring Boot, and distributed caching Redis. Praful has extensive experience in building scalable SaaS platforms utilizing microservices/distributed systems architecture like RESTful APIs consumed by internal and external partners, messaging middleware using JMS, AMQP, Kafka, and NATS, in-memory caching using Redis and Memcached, RDBMS or NoSQL systems, data structures and algorithms. He is also skilled in analyzing, evaluating, and adopting next-generation technologies for Qualys' big data correlation and analytics engine leveraging knowledge of JVM concepts. Prior to his current role, Praful has worked as Director of Cloud Services at Securonix, where he was responsible for delivering Next-Gen SIEM Solution on Cloud Platform. He was also responsible for architecting all Securonix service components hosted on cloud with Hadoop stack which gives unique exposure to Big data on Cloud. He has also worked as Principal Solutions Architect - SIEM & UEBA at Securonix, where he was responsible for designing architectures for enterprise deployments and delivering use cases for Data Exfiltration Analytics, High Privileged Monitoring, CyberThreat Analytics, Application Analytics, and continuous Risk Monitoring. Praful holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from the Pune Institute of Computer Technology. He also holds a High School Certificate in Science from Nanaji Joshi Jr. College.
