Prajakt Deshpande is an accomplished Engineering Leader with over 20 years of experience in building and leading global engineering teams. He is passionate about building teams, products, technology, and great engineering culture for massively scalable businesses. Currently serving as an Engineering Manager at Microsoft, Prajakt has hands-on experience in building and scaling engineering teams, platforms, and products from the ground up by 20-50x. Prajakt is focused on creating technology teams and culture that awards action-bias, agility, innovation, differentiation, and delivery. He has a proven ability to define a clear vision and roadmap that is challenging and motivating to the team. Prajakt has a unique ability to zoom in from high-level overview of the problem to hacking the code along with the developer. Before joining Microsoft, Prajakt served as VP Engineering at Joveo, where he led the team to build a SaaS platform based on Angular JS, Redux, AWS Lambda, AWS streaming, and AWS batch infrastructure. He has also served as Vice President, Software Development at Oracle, where he led a 170-member engineering team for the Oracle Digital Banking Experience (OBDX) Line of Business. Prajakt was responsible for product roadmap, release planning, product management, and engineering (development and testing). He defined the Cloud and SaaS roadmap and plan for OBDX aligning with the organization's Microservices strategy. Prajakt is an alumnus of the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) and Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has also completed several courses in Machine Learning, including Foundations of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from IIIT, Machine Learning Nanodegree from Udacity, and Advanced Machine Learning Course using Python from Simplilearn.
