Prakash Gupta is a Senior Big Data/ML Engineer at Tesco with over 4 years of relevant experience in the field. He is a technical expert in Big Data, Linear optimization, Machine learning, and provides Analytics solutions with domain expertise in Telecom and Retail. Prakash is a public speaker and mentor at Udemy, where he shares his expertise in Big Data, Open CV, Spark, Python, and Optimization. Prakash has a Bachelor’s Degree in Btech in computer science from Tezpur Central University. He also completed his high school education from Saint Joseph School. He has a strong tech stack that includes Big Data, ML, Spark, Python, Computer Vision, Data Scientist, Recommendation system, Data Engineering, and Research Scientist. In his current role at Tesco, Prakash is working with core Retail groups to help build scalable data pipelines and Data Science models that help the business in the long run. He has also worked as a Big Data Engineer at BCG, where he worked with the team of Data Scientist to help scaling of code base refactor and QC of Data to generate quality analytical solutions to complex marketing strategies. Prakash has also worked with the Big Data team of Indonesian clients to help set up Big Data Analytics solutions for the team single-handedly. He was also in a team to provide analytical insights of data to the consultant team to arrive at business decisions for the client. Prakash has built an internal project of Clothing recommendation system based on purchase history and click history of the product and the customer. It involved the use of Collaborative filtering along with building Data Pipeline and Data Cleaning and Pre-processing using Pyspark. Apart from his professional work, Prakash has also been a Student Advisor at IEEE Tezpur University Students Chapter. He led the IEEE team of the Educational institutions to build projects in collaboration with Electronics and Computer Science students and faculties. He led the team to build projects like Chat Bot, Complete Responsive website for a Book store, and Robot to follow a path on its own (In collaboration with Electronics Department). Prakash is passionate about creating an analytical journey across the globe and aspires for opportunities to make an impact in the best possible way.
