Pramanik is a highly skilled data engineer with a passion for machine learning, database design, and administration. With over 8 years of relevant experience, he has proven expertise in product and client management, and a strong background in SQL, Python, and handling large datasets. He completed his Post Graduate Program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from BITS Pilani, where he worked on a major project on video analytics with OCR, object detection, and speech to text conversion. Pramanik has extensive experience in developing and maintaining app databases and data warehouses using Microsoft SQL Server stack, as well as complex SQL scripting on SQL Server, Oracle, and Postgres for both OLAP and OLTP. He is also skilled in optimizing Hive data warehouse and data ingestion with Sqoop, and scripting Scala applications for Spark batch and stream processing using structured APIs. Additionally, he has expertise in data analytics and machine learning using Python, and is proficient in AWS technologies such as EMR, Glue, ECS, Redshift, Athena, and S3. In his current role as a Summer Intern at Tata Steel, Pramanik is working on an ongoing Six Sigma project aimed at reducing the occurrence of defects on steel sheets and plates. He is responsible for collecting and analyzing data, building fishbone diagrams and Pareto charts, suggesting design changes, and simulating stress analysis for line components. He has been highly appreciated by the project manager for his contributions. Prior to this, Pramanik worked as a Business Intelligence Analyst at Tata Consultancy Services - Engineering and Industrial Services, where he developed insightful dashboards to track KPIs for the Global Engineering Change Management process from scratch. He also developed end-to-end BI solutions to extract, process, hold, and report PLM and ERP data for detailed reporting of the complete product line compliance with hierarchy. He has hands-on experience with Pentaho Business Analytics platform and Pivot4j plugin. Pramanik has also worked as a Technology Consultant at Deloitte, where he led efforts on multiple releases for an International Payroll product suite, developed procedures, functions, triggers, and reports on the application database, and spearheaded pilot data migration for a web application to a new version. He has also led and delivered several ad-hoc data analysis and reporting projects using SSRS, Excel, VBA macro, and Power Pivot.
