Pranabesh Sarkar is an accomplished Enterprise Architect with over 22 years of experience in modernizing data architecture, platform engineering, data strategy, and data engineering. He has a strong focus on cloud-native technologies, big data, MPP databases, and NoSQL data stores, and is an expert in cloud-based implementation on both Amazon AWS and Azure. Currently, Pranabesh is leading the competency center for emerging insights and data platform technologies to create insights-driven enterprises with a strong data-driven culture. He has extensive expertise in cloud technologies such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Amazon RDS, HDInsight, MS Azure, AWS Glue, AWS MSK, MS SQL DW, and Synapse. Additionally, he has expertise in big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Sqoop, and Pig Latin, as well as NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, MongoDB, and HBase. Pranabesh also has expertise in MPP databases such as Paraccel, Greenplum, and Vertica, as well as RDBMS such as Oracle DBA, Oracle RAC, MySQL DBA, MySQL Clustering, and Postgresql. He is proficient in Python, ETL processing using Talend, and visualization/reporting using Tableau. Furthermore, he has a good understanding of infrastructure as code using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation. Pranabesh has a strong understanding of microservices, DevOps, CI/CD, container-based deployments, Linux/Unix internals, storage systems, networking systems, and system-level performance tuning. He is an expert in distributed systems and next-gen data processing systems using Storm, Spark, Spark Streaming, Kafka, and other technologies. Pranabesh is currently working as a Distinguished Architect - Data and Analytics at Altimetrik. Previously, he has held senior positions at Capgemini as Sr Director - Data and Insights - Evolving Technologies and Director - Big Data Center of Excellence. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) and has completed his schooling from DAV Public School, Dayanand Vihar, Delhi.
