Pranav Bijwe is a highly skilled Software Engineer with 2.78 years of experience in the field. He is currently working at Verak, a Y Combinator Winter 2021 startup, where he is leading the development of the Policy Deconstruction Algorithm (PDA). This intelligent approach uses Reinforcement Learning to simplify long and verbose insurance policy documents into a single readable phone screen, free from jargon. Pranav is also responsible for maintaining the backend for ‘Know your Term Insurance’, a feature that simplifies 30 to 40 page policy documents to an easy-to-digest set of screens. He has also been instrumental in developing ‘Know Your Motor Insurance’, a feature in the BimaPe wallet that simplifies motor insurance policies to a simple and interactive interface, giving the user all the relevant details about their policy. Prior to joining Verak, Pranav worked as a Research Intern at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where he contributed to the OpenRAP project. This project aims to develop a localised, scalable and modular content delivery network for educational content. Pranav holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from Pune Institute of Computer Technology. He is highly skilled in various technologies such as P2P, Reinforcement Learning, Backend, and Research Scientist.
