Pranav Karnani is a driven Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer with a passion for exploring the latest technologies and applying them to real-world problems. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Information Systems Management at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, specializing in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics. Pranav has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from VIT and a High School Diploma in Computer Science from St. James' School (Kolkata). Pranav has gained valuable experience in the field of AI and ML through his work as an AI/ML Intern at PPG, where he reduced the number of trials to match color in automobiles by 40%, saving millions of dollars and time annually. He also formulated a simulator by combining Gaussian Process Regression and optical physics to predict light spectra from a set of toner compositions and delivered recommendations for toner compositions employing optimization techniques such as Differential Evolution and Swarm Particle optimization. As a Graduate Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University - School of Computer Science - Institute for Software Research, Pranav collaborated with a professor to understand vacancy chains across the gaming industry. He developed a web crawler to extract data from over 10 million+ webpages containing information about various developers and organizations. Currently, Pranav is working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, where he designs projects and assignments on Speech Recognition and Processing, Computer Vision, and holds recitations for 200+ students on MLPs, CNNs, RNNs - LSTMs, CTC, Attention, and Transformer-based models. Pranav is proficient in Deep Learning, ML, Research Scientist, Data Scientist, Computer Vision, AI, and Web technologies. He is always eager to learn and explore new technologies and apply them to real-world problems.
