Pranshu Kharkwal is a Software and Product enthusiast with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi. He is currently working as a Student at The Linux Foundation in the Google Summer of Code program, where he is creating a single universal CUPS filter to replace the chain of individual filters. This project will save a lot of time and resources as CUPS will no longer have to call individual executable files one by one. Pranshu has always been interested in the world of computers and mobile phones. During his schooling days, he tried his hands with blogging and content creation and ran a tech cum inspiration blog called Inspire Buddy. He also ran various niche websites and tried his hands with SEO and Digital Marketing. He lost touch in the blogging field when he started preparing for JEE in 11th and 12th standard and then decided to explore other avenues. At IIT Mandi, Pranshu explored different interest fields through different clubs and societies and got himself involved in competitive programming and web development. He did several hobby projects with friends, built and learnt software development and product management hands-on without any courses. During his sophomore year, he participated in the Google Summer of Code program with the organization, the Linux Foundation (Open Printing), where he did proper industry-level software development. Pranshu did another internship with a startup called "Clubmate" where he was the lead backend developer and worked on feature implementations of "Stories" and "Audiorooms". Last summer, he did a software development internship with Microsoft and got exposed to how software development takes place at big companies. He learned various technical skills and soft skills as a part of the internship and also got offered a Pre Placement Offer from Microsoft to join them for a full-time role. Currently, Pranshu is working on a startup venture to solve the issue of connectivity in remote colleges like IIT Mandi. He likes to read and talk about startups, stock markets, investments, politics, and current affairs. Pranshu is a Software Engineer with a background in Backend, Web, and Mobile development, product management, and Data Science. With 0.36 years of relevant experience, he is a dynamic individual with a passion for technology and innovation.
