Prasad Joshi is a highly skilled and experienced software engineer with over 15 years of experience in designing and implementing robust, scalable solutions to complex technical and functional problems in a wide variety of domains. Currently, he is working as a Senior Member of Technical Staff at PayPal, where he is leading the architecture, design, and implementation of new capabilities within the payments platform. He is also responsible for scaling and modernizing the payments platform to enable faster and reliable processing of millions of payments per day. In addition, Prasad is redesigning various payments flows from a single monolithic application to distributed microservices that are highly available and scalable. He is also designing RESTful payment APIs capable of catering to a wide variety of payments use cases like e-commerce, point of sale, P2P, donations, payouts, remittance, etc. Prior to joining PayPal, Prasad worked as a Software Engineer at MedTrust Online, where he was responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and monitoring a web portal for doctors as well as the corporate website of the company. He implemented Crawling, Extraction, Integration, Indexing, and Searching of information about cancer medicines, clinical trials, and treatment information from various types of data sources, including XML files, web pages, MySQL databases, and PDF, Doc, PPT files. Prasad has also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Hispanic Research Center, Arizona State University, where he was responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining different websites for under-represented students to apply to various universities in the United States, submit papers/posters to conferences, and manage graduate research project proposals, reports, etc. He also digitized past 15 years paper-based application records, research project records, and provided an interface to run different types of data analysis reports on them. Prasad holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Technology from the University of Mumbai.
