Prashant Chauhan is a highly skilled Software Engineer Technical Lead with over 10 years of experience in the industry. He is currently employed at HERE Technologies, where he leads the development of batch and streaming Big Data processing systems that transform sensor data from connected vehicles into map layers and real-time notification services for assisted and automated driving. Prashant has a deep understanding of Java, Scala, Bash, Python, SQL, NoSQL, and a variety of technologies such as Storm, Spark, Flink, Kafka, MapReduce with AWS EMR, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes. Prior to HERE Technologies, Prashant worked at Sears Holdings Corporation as a Software Engineer II. During his time there, he was responsible for designing and implementing a highly distributed and scalable application that indexed over 80 million products, which were searchable on sears.com and its subsidiary websites. Prashant redesigned the indexing process from batch to stream processing, significantly reducing the time needed to refresh the product catalog. He also built a solution that enabled instant deletion of banned/obscene products from being searchable. Prashant has a deep understanding of Java, Shell, Spring, Storm, Kafka, Zookeeper, Solr, and has experience in relevancy improvements with enhanced e-commerce tracking and related searches. Prashant holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Information Technology from JNTU.
