Prashant Golash is a seasoned software engineer with over 14 years of experience in the field of big data and efficient retrieval means. He is currently working as a Tech Lead Manager at Uber where he manages the Batch Compute team to support ML and Big Data Analytics. Prashant is a founding engineer at Bluesky Data, where he worked on developing algorithms and logic programming to enhance data retrieval. Prashant's expertise lies in Hadoop, Apache Hive, and ML, and he has worked extensively on infrastructure and data management projects at Uber. As a Senior Software Engineer II at Uber, he led the Hadoop YARN team and worked on several projects to improve container allocation rate, scheduling, and resource management of multi-tenant YARN queues. He also drove cost savings by introducing low priority compute workloads and supported YARN primitives to ensure high-priority workloads were not affected. In his previous role as a Senior Software Engineer at Uber, Prashant worked on the design and implementation of Hive Incremental Replication Service, a highly performant and low latency system that replicates hundreds of terabytes of data daily across data centers. He also designed and architected a Hive dashboard to facilitate cross-data center management of Hive datasets.
