Prashant Kothari is a highly skilled Lead Design Engineer with a working history in the computer software and hardware industry. He is currently working as a Principal Design Engineer at Cadence Design Systems. Prashant has extensive experience in algorithm development, artificial intelligence (AI), and embedded systems. In his current role, Prashant is a member of the computer vision and imaging team in Cadence's Tensilica. He is primarily involved in software development of computer vision libraries and applications on the Tensilica Vision line of DSPs targeting mobile, automotive, and security platforms. His responsibilities include developing and optimizing computer vision applications on Tensilica Vision DSPs, exploring multi-core architectures that enable efficient implementation of computer vision applications on embedded processor systems, understanding next-generation Vision platforms and DSP architecture, and developing machine learning networks on Tensilica deep learning platform. Prior to joining Cadence Design Systems, Prashant worked at KPIT as a Senior Software Developer. In this role, he was responsible for porting and optimizing image processing algorithms such as Lane departure warning, Front collision warning, Traffic sign detection, etc. on TI's multi-core platform (TDA2x). His responsibilities included board bring up, understanding, optimizing, and porting ADAS image processing algorithms on a multi-core platform, and DSP and EVE (Embedded Vision Engine) programming. Prashant has a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Electronics from Walchand College of Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electronics from G.H. Raisoni College. He has a relevant experience of 9.36 years and is proficient in computer vision, AI, software engineering, deep learning, ML, mobile, and image processing.
