Prashant Sharma is a skilled Software Engineer and Python Developer with a passion for open source ideology. He has over 3 years of experience in Backend Development, Python Development, and Frameworks like Django & React. At present, he is working as a Python Developer at Zyte where he is responsible for creating and maintaining web spiders to fulfil web scraping requirements via Scrapy. He also works with both Data Operations and Data Set Up teams to satisfy end-to-end scraping requirements. Prashant is a true believer in open source ideology and has contributed to various projects like pip, Mailman, and django-phone-verify. He is also a blogger and writes blogs to share his learnings and experiences with others. He is always open to any work that can be done in the open and have a positive impact on the people. Prashant has previously worked as a Software Engineer (SDE-I) at Attentive AI where he managed and created features for multiple microservices. He also developed the backend for the major product of the company from scratch. He has acquired in-depth knowledge in the GIS domain and its related tools like QGIS, Vector Data Manipulation (Geojson, KML, Shapefiles), GDAL, etc. As a Backend Developer at Attentive AI, Prashant got the opportunity to create end-user products and experience various phases of SDLC. He developed the back-end using REST APIs in DRF for an internal tool used for street annotation. He also leveraged his knowledge in GIS-specific terminologies and backed a landscape-specific feature platform by creating REST APIs. Prashant holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Information Technology from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. He has also completed his 11th and 12th from Spring Meadows Public School and 10th from Ring Midways Public School.
