Prashanth Kanduri is a Simulation Software Developer and Computational Science Graduate from ETH Zürich. He has over 6 years of relevant experience working on interdisciplinary problems in research, engineering, and product development. Prashanth's specialties include HPC, Software Development, Engineering Simulations, Mathematical Modelling, Numerical Methods and Algorithms, Software Design/Architecture, API Development, Robotics, Geometrical Modelling, Computer Aided Design, Scientific Visualization, Programming, Design/Performance Optimization, and Data Analytics. During his studies, Prashanth explored key areas such as High Performance Scientific Computing, Multi-Physics/Multi-Scale Simulation Algorithms, Compute Accelerators, Soft Computing and Heuristic Techniques, Applied Mathematics and Numerical Methods, Graphics, Visualization and Computer Vision, Neuromorphic Computing, Multi-Disciplinary Design Optimization (MDO), Systems and Control Engineering, and Machine Learning and Data Mining. Currently, Prashanth is a Scientific Software Developer with the Scientific Software & Libraries (SSL) Group at the Zürich office of the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre, cscs. His work involves the development of high-performance scientific simulation software for research projects connected to the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE) initiative. He is also involved in teaching GPU programming and mentoring teams in GPU/HPC hackathons. Prashanth is presently involved in the development of an architecture-independent domain-specific library/API for Molecular Dynamics/Generalized Particle Simulations. In the past, Prashanth has worked as a Master Thesis Student at ABB, where he completed a master thesis project on a collaborative project between SAM (D-MATH) of ETH Zurich and ABB. The project involved software development on an in-house simulation framework, enhancement using analytic solutions to primitive geometries, p-refinement using higher order elements/shape functions, and integration into the framework to improve approximation. Prashanth has also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at ETH Zurich, where he worked on the TubeX project in Dr. Gábor Székely's Medical Image Analysis and Visualization group. Prashanth holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computational Science and Engineering from ETH Zurich, a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) with Honors & Distinction in Mechanical Engineering from VIT, and has completed a Dresden Summer School in Systems Biology focused on Spatiotemporal Modeling and Simulation of Biological Systems. He also holds a High School degree from Kalka Public
