Prashantha Gowda is an experienced Lead Software Engineer with over 18 years of experience in the field. He has expertise in various video and image compression standards and open source audio codecs. He has extensive development experience in C, C++, and has worked on real-time multi-threaded programming. Prashantha has worked on embedded hardware and software debugger tools of DSP and has experience in media streaming technologies such as RTSP and HLS. He is familiar with open source media libraries such as FFmpeg, Live555, and OPAL. Prashantha is proficient in GPU pipeline, software pipeline, hand assembly coding, video accelerator programming, and has familiarity with network protocols such as H.323 and SIP. Prashantha is currently working as a Lead Software Engineer at Steris Corporation, where he is responsible for streaming design and implementation using live555, FFmpeg, and Black magic and Fuji capture card. He has also designed video conference using FFmpeg and OPAL libraries, including various video and audio codecs. Prashantha has resolved challenging interoperability issues relating to SIP and H.323 and has worked on trauma view using media streaming technology HLS. In the past, Prashantha has worked as a Lead Video Engineer at Clearone, where he worked on a media streaming product that supports 1080p60 444. He was involved in design and development using C++, Java, and worked on H.264 Encoder and Decoder using GPU, capture and rendering scaling and sampling, streaming using DirectX, FFmeg, Live-555, and local video player which can play various container formats like mp4, wmv, mpg, mov, asf, etc. He has also worked as a Sr Lead Engineer at Lifesize, where he worked on video conference products based on embedded endpoints and MCU. He implemented H.264 1080p60, H.263+ Encoder, Decoder on Multicore VLIW, SIMD by efficient usage of video accelerators optimization, DSP software pipelining, DMA, cache optimization, and by video algorithm considering quality and performance factors. Prashantha has a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Embedded Systems from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electronics and Communications from the University of Mysore. He is proficient in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and Python and has experience with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and RTOS
