Prasun Anand is a highly skilled software engineer with a passion for open source software and a diverse range of technical expertise. With over 6 years of relevant experience, he has worked in the fields of Financial Markets, AI, Systems Programming, and Genomics. Currently, he is the founder of Zasper, an end-to-end AI workbench built on top of open source Pydata tools that allows data teams to build their data science and AI workloads in the cloud and scale and deploy them. His work involves unifying distributed computing, data pipelines, data visualizations, and MLOps into one platform. Before founding Zasper, Prasun worked as a software engineer at Quansight, where he contributed to the Pytorch project, a deep learning framework from Facebook AI, and QHub. He is an active contributor to open source software and helps organizations adopt and improve their AI and machine learning infrastructure. He is also involved with SciRuby and GeneNetwork projects. Prasun is the author of Faster-LMM-D, a GWAS tool with GPU support targeted for pharmaceutical companies and research labs. It is currently the most efficient GWAS tool that can be used to study huge datasets. He is also the author of NumRuby, ArrayFire-rb, and RbCUDA gems. Prasun has a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Biological Sciences and a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Chemical Engineering, both from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
