Prateek Agrawal is a highly experienced Vice President of Software Engineering with over 11 years of experience in application development and designing. He has a deep expertise in stream processing, APIs, microservices, REST, DDD, EDA, and CQRS paradigm. Prateek has a proven track record of building and leading product teams of varying sizes. Prateek is currently working as an Engineering Lead for Barclays, where he is responsible for building a cloud-native cards transaction processing system in the bank. The system is completely serverless built on AWS and is capable of handling millions of transactions. He is responsible for the solution design and delivery of the transaction posting domain. The solution is distributed and built on AWS Kinesis, Lambda, and DynamoDB. Before joining Barclays, Prateek worked as an Assistant Manager for Citi and an Associate Software Engineer for Symantec. At Citi, he worked on the Citi Risk Commercial project, a risk management portal for CITI Bank that provides guidelines for giving away loans to customers. Prateek exposed the REST APIs for calculating scores for an applicant or credit application. At Symantec, he worked on the SSIM project, a comprehensive SIEM system that offers enterprise-wide log collection, management, and retention. Prateek introduced system tables having Geolocation attribute country to be used while defining rules in the system. Prateek has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from Truba Institute of Engineering and Information Technology. He has a strong technical background and is proficient in AWS, Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices, Docker, MongoDB, Jenkins, Integration, ECS, CI/CD, and Web.
