Prateek Goel is a skilled software development engineer with a passion for solving complex architectural problems. With two years of experience building backend services, he has a proven track record of designing and implementing HTTP APIs, fault-tolerant search services, and big data pipelines. Prateek is highly proficient in Python, C++, SQL, and Ansible, and is fluent in Apache Spark, Javascript, NodeJS, and Angular. Prateek considers himself a generalist, and his interests span across AI and productivity. He enjoys borrowing ideas from evolutionary biology, computer science, and AI philosophy to improve his productivity and the quality of his work. Currently, Prateek is seeking opportunities in Seattle and the San Francisco Bay Area. Before joining Amazon as a Software Development Engineer, Prateek worked at NewsCred as a Software Engineer, where he designed and built services for the world's leading content marketing platform. He architected and built a new microservice on AWS for tagging and searching through text and image content using Python/Flask, MySQL, Elasticsearch, and Celery workers for indexing thousands of documents reliably. Prateek also built several features into a data pipeline that uses Celery data gathering tasks, an S3 data lake, an Apache Spark application, and a Python/Flask HTTP API. He onboarded himself onto NewsCred's infrastructure and owned the process of fully productionizing and automating the configuration of two new microservices. Prateek also took up the responsibility of helping onboard new engineers to NewsCred's system architecture by creating detailed resource diagrams and using them to provide architecture walkthroughs. He developed a system that identifies trending content published through NewsCred's platform by building a model of a client's content performance. Prateek also worked as a Software Engineering Intern at NewsCred, where he worked as a full-stack software engineer on NewsCred's analytics product using Node, AngularJS, and MongoDB. He delivered features that drastically improved the analytics UX and increased the number of users by an order of magnitude. Prateek holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Science from the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT).
