Pratik Bhirud is a highly skilled Software Engineer currently working as a Member of Technical Staff at DataPelago. He is currently associated with Dremio, where he has been working with the Datalake team and has been instrumental in developing the "COPY INTO <table>" feature for Dremio. Pratik has contributed to various stages of the feature's development lifecycle, including implementation of critical code parts, functional testing, performance benchmarking, optimizations, and documentation. He has also been actively involved in enhancing Dremio by identifying and addressing bugs, implementing test enhancements, and laying the foundation for new features. Pratik has gained exposure to state-of-the-art technologies like Hadoop, Parquet, Spark, Hive, Iceberg, AWS S3, and Delta Lake. His past experience includes working as an SWE Intern at Dremio, where he worked under the Datalake team to implement stats-based data file pruning for Delta Lake tables. He has also worked as an MTS Intern at VMware, where he designed and prototyped the test automation framework for VMware's Telco Cloud Automation. Pratik holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani - Goa Campus. He has a strong technical background and is proficient in various technologies like AWS, Spark, Hadoop, SDET, Apache Hive, and SQL. With relevant experience of 0.86 years, Pratik is a highly skilled and motivated individual who is always eager to learn and grow in his career.
