Prativa Basnet is a public health professional with over 8 years of experience in health research, public health projects, monitoring and evaluation, and behavior change communication interventions. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Bergen (UiB) and is working towards expanding her knowledge and expertise in the field of public health. Prativa has worked with various organizations in the past, including the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health- Työterveyslaitos, where she was a part of the Cochrane Work Review Group. Here, she was involved in conducting a Cochrane review on interventions to reduce injuries in construction workers and also worked on a meta-analysis and meta-regression on the incidence of sharps injuries in surgical units. She has also worked as an independent researcher for Restless Development, where she conducted qualitative research among project beneficiaries. She developed tools, conducted data collection, analyzed data, and produced a qualitative report that measured the major project milestones. This included perspectives of adolescent girls and boys, especially from marginalized groups, who noted changes in their experiences related to their school engagement as a result of participating in after-school activities by the end of the project. Prativa has a Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of Eastern Finland, where she studied Epidemiology. She also has a BPH degree from Pokhara Vishwavidalaya, where she studied Public Health, Epidemiology, and Biostatistics. She has a strong research background and is a Research Scientist. Overall, Prativa is a dedicated public health professional with a passion for improving health outcomes through evidence-based interventions.
