Praveen Agrawal is a highly skilled software engineer with over 5 years of experience in the field. He is currently working as a Research Intern at the University of Paderborn, where he is utilizing images of particles suspended in a fluid to study fluid flow. Praveen has developed a fast algorithm for 2D Particle Image Velocimetry, which is used to measure the velocity profile of fluids. He has also performed particle tracking by developing algorithms for feature point detection and trajectory linking. Prior to his current role, Praveen worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Samsung, where he designed a cascaded Convolutional Neural Network model trained on Equirectangular images for face detection. This work was accepted for publication in the International Conference on Computer Vision and Image Processing (CVIP 2019). He also explored augmented reality use cases using AR Core as the SLAM engine and developed a C++ engine with a Java wrapper to generate 3D text mesh for any input string irrespective of language and font styles. This work was commercialized in the Samsung Galaxy S20 as a part of the AR Doodle app. Praveen has a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay and an Intermediate degree in Science from Delhi Public School B.S. City. He is proficient in a wide range of technologies, including mobile development, Java, Android, computer vision, image processing, and neural networks.
