Prawal Agarwal is a Senior Software Engineer at Microsoft, with over 9 years of experience in the industry. He is a part of the team that enables Microsoft's cloud offering, working in the Azure Devops and Azure Application Platform teams. Prawal has enabled deployment scenarios on Azure, such as building high scale distributed automation platform and impact prediction algorithms. He has also worked on writing connectors for attaching Azure workflows to external services like service bus, twitter, facebook, twilio etc, which involved extensive exposure to writing and maintaining REST APIs. Prawal has experience in diverse technologies, ranging from designing UI tools to lighting up test management scenarios on Azure Devops. He enjoys trying new things and is focused to achieve results while working on exciting new technologies. In his current role at Microsoft, Prawal is a member of the Azure Cloud Infrastructure team, building high scale and reliable deployment services used by Ring 0 Azure services like SQL, XStore, Skype etc. Prior to joining Microsoft, Prawal worked as a Software Intern at Netapp, where he worked with the Write Anywhere File Layout (WAFL) team (File system of NetApps ONTAP OS). During his intern period, he was assigned the work of providing a new solution for disk checking mechanism for finding disk errors in RAID. He was also a Research Intern at Carleton University, Ottawa, where he was awarded the MITACS Globalink Scholarship for carrying out research with Dr. Yvan Labiche. Prawal worked on modeling tools for describing objects in object oriented languages and developed a plugin for Eclipse IDE for checking the consistency of UML diagrams before they are modeled into classes. Prawal holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and a Master of Science (MS) degree from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. His tech stack includes Software Engineering, Azure, SQL, DevOps, Test, UI, Infra, and Research Scientist. Prawal is passionate about technology and is always eager to learn and explore new things.
