Prerana Singhal is a highly motivated and enthusiastic Founding Engineer at Traceable AI, with a passion for backend development and natural language processing (NLP). With almost 7 years of relevant experience in the industry, Prerana is an open-minded individual who is always eager to learn and open to new ideas. Currently working as a Tech-Intern at Flipkart, Prerana has been a valuable member of the NLP-Tech team, contributing to the Talk on Deep Learning for NLP conducted in The Fifth Elephant conference, 2015. She was also one of the core contributors to the Flipkart Incubator Open source project Optimus hosted at Github. Prerana has performed sentiment classification of tweets using Convolution Neural Networks (CNNs) and has also built a deep-learning based text classification framework that was integrated with the existing Flipkart systems. In addition, she implemented a demo to assess review quality in the internal Hack Day. Prior to her current role, Prerana worked as an M.Tech Teaching Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where she primarily worked on Natural Language Processing thesis, mainly Sentiment Analysis and Deep Learning. She developed a configurable deep learning-based classification system for sentiment analysis, using Python and Theano libraries. Prerana also performed multilingual sentiment classification using deep learning models and English resources, with significant performance gains in many (Indian and European) languages. She also worked as a Software Engineer I at Appdynamics, where she played around with different frameworks like vert.x, akka (scala), async http clients, IBM-BPM, and likewise. Prerana holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and an Engineer’s Degree in Information Technology from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur. She has a strong TechStack, including AI, Backend, NLP, Software Engineer, Kafka, and Senior Software Engineer. Overall, Prerana Singhal is a versatile and highly skilled engineer with a strong background in NLP and backend development.
